India, April 2 -- Residents of several housing societies near the canal in Hadapsar's Hingne Mala area have raised concerns over the growing nuisance caused by anti-social elements and urged police to step up action.
At a meeting held on March 30, attended by over 200 residents, locals highlighted issues such as public drinking and harassment of women in the area.
Nationalist Congress Party leader Yogesh Sasane said, "More than 200 citizens gathered and raised their concerns about anti-social elements. The police have assured us they will increase their presence and take action."
