Gzb: 3 minors die as bike hits parked truck
Ghaziabad, Nov. 13 -- Three minor boys - aged 12, 15 and 16 - were killed late on Tuesday after their speeding motorbike crashed into a stationary truck on the National Highway-9 stretch in Ghaziabad, police said on Wednesday.
Officers added that the boys, who were not wearing helmets, had gone out on a joyride.
The incident took place near the IPEM College crossing in the Vijay Nagar area on the Delhi-Ghaziabad carriageway around 10pm. The bike rammed the rear of a truck parked along the road, killing all three boys on the spot.
"The truck, which was wrongly parked, has been seized while the driver fled. The minors' bodies have been sent for autopsy," said Ritesh Tripathi, assistant commissioner of police (Vijay Nagar circle).
