India, May 21 -- A radiologist at a private hospital on Khandsa Road in Gurugram was caught allegedly conducting an illegal foetal sex determination during a decoy operation by the district health department on Wednesday, officials said, adding that the operation was conducted on the basis of a confidential complaint.

According to officials, the radiologist was allegedly caught accepting Rs.40,000 from a 17-week pregnant woman in exchange for revealing the sex of her foetus. The ultrasound machine used in the procedure was sealed, the officials said.
