GST collections cross rRs.r2 lakh crore in September, rise 14.7%
New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- India's gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue in September crossed Rs.2 lakh crore, registering a 14.7% year-on-year increase, government data released on Thursday showed.
Gross GST collections stood at Rs.2,03,521 crore in September 2026, compared with Rs.1,77,365 crore in September 2025. The collections reflect transactions undertaken in August.
Net revenue after refunds surged 18.1% to Rs.1,76,520 crore in September this year, from Rs.1,49,517 crore in September 2025.
Experts attributed the stronger growth in net revenue partly to comparatively lower refunds. Refunds in September 2026 stood at Rs.27,001 crore, down 3% from Rs.27,848 crore in the same month last year.
