New Delhi, July 15 -- The Centre's gross direct tax collections rose 16.11% year-on-year to Rs.7.74 lakh crore in the period from April 1 to July 13 of FY27, driven by higher corporate and non-corporate tax revenues, according to government data released on Tuesday. Despite a sharp rise in refunds, net direct tax collections grew 16.4% to Rs.6.51 lakh crore, indicating continued resilience in tax buoyancy. Gross direct tax collections stood at Rs.7,73,681.68 crore during the period. After refunds of Rs.1,22,491.87 crore, net collections were Rs.6,51,189.81 crore.
