Grand Canyon flash flood: National Park to close hotels, enforce water restrictions - 5 things to know
India, Aug. 31 -- Grand Canyon National Park has announced sweeping water conservation measures after flash flooding. The National Park's official page on X shared that the flooding severely damaged critical infrastructure in the inner canyon.
Beginning at noon on August 31, the park will implement Stage 4 water restrictions on the South Rim. The National Park Service (NPS) said the restrictions will remain in place for the foreseeable future while crews assess damage to the park's water system.
The restrictions follow significant flash flooding in Bright Angel Canyon on August 29, which damaged the Transcanyon Waterline. The pipeline transports water from Roaring Springs to facilities on both the North and South rims. Officials said th...
