India, Aug. 13 -- The Indian government said on Thursday that engagements between Indian and Pakistani think tanks and academicians, including Track-2 dialogues, are outside its purview, with individuals participating in such interactions in their private capacity.

Responding to a question by Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha on the government's assessment of, and any advisory issued regarding, the participation of retired Indian diplomats, military officers and civil society figures in Track-2 dialogues with Pakistani counterparts, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said their views do not reflect those of the Government of India.
