New Delhi, April 28 -- The Delhi Government has launched a plantation drive and identified over 800,000 individuals from different sections of society to meet the target of planting 7 million saplings this year, Delhi's environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Monday. Sirsa also announced "Green Awards" for individuals and institutions with the best maintenance, survival, and long-term care of planted trees. The minister also called for geo-fencing for every planted sapling to ensure transparent monitoring and real-time tracking.htc
