Varanasi, Sept. 5 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said 40-45 districts used to be flood affected during the monsoon about a decade ago, but today only 14 districts are facing minor impacts and this is the result of the work done by the government over the last nine-and- a-half years.

He was addressing a programme after distributing relief material to flood-affected people at a relief camp at Vidyavihar Inter College in Varanasi's Salarpur. He assured the affected people that the government stands with them at every step.

He also conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Varanasi.
