Give befitting reply to Delhi's zamindars: CM
Kolkata, April 16 -- West Bengal chief minster on Wednesday alleged that some "malevolent forces" were attempting to tarnish the harmony in the state, accusing "Delhi's zamindars" of trying to usurp people's voting rights, as she extended greetings to people on the occasion of Bengali New Year.
In a post on X, she expressed hope that the new year would make people's lives "free of blemishes". Speaking on "zamindars", the chief minister said, "Remember, we must give a befitting reply to them (Delhi's zamindars) democratically."
Calling for unity, she urged people to vow to break down the "walls of narrow-mindedness" and remain united against divisive and authoritarian forces.
