India, Aug. 22 -- The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) board on Friday cleared funding proposals for a new elevated road stretch on the GT Road and a Hindon river embankment road, the officials said.

GDA has proposed a four-lane elevated road from Ghanta Ghar to Bhatia Morh along the 2-km stretch of the Grand Trunk Road. Officials said the project is estimated to cost around Rs.200.23 crore and is expected to take two years to complete after tenders are awarded.

"The project has been approved by the state and its funding will be in a ratio of 50:25:25 through a loan, the Centre's Urban Challenge Fund and the GDA. For its 50% share, the GDA will opt for a loan. A detailed project report will also be prepared soon. The project is pla...
