Bengaluru, June 25 -- Five members of a family drowned in the Cauvery river near Muthathi in Karnataka's Mandya district on Wednesday evening, police said. The victims were identified as Chaitra (20), Shwetha (38), Vijayamma (50), Priyanka (28) and Mahesh (35), they added. Halasuru circle officer B Shridhar said the victims were residents of Channapatna and had visited the Mutthettaraya temple. After offering prayers, some went near the river.
