India, Oct. 9 -- After repeated complaints from the Shiv Sena, suburban collector Saurabh Katiyar has started a reinvestigation into the reclamation of the Lokhandwala backwaters.

The issue was raised by Sena Mumbai North-West MP Ravindra Waikar in a meeting with Katiyar to discuss issues pertaining to the constituency. He told the collector that the issue had been raised in the assembly, and the government had also given explicit orders to stop the landfilling but it continued regardless. Local resident associations and ALMs have also protested against it.
