India, Aug. 14 -- The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified a recall of over 1.5 million eggs as the most serious due to potential Salmonella contamination.

On Wednesday, the voluntary recall was assigned a "Class I" designation, with the FDA cautioning that there is a "situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death," as per 10 WBNS.
