PRAYAGRAJ, June 25 -- Eight people, including the father of a 13-year-old girl, were booked for allegedly attempting to solemnise her marriage to a 38-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh. Six persons were detained in connection with the case, of whom three women were later released on personal bonds, while three men were sent to jail.

Police on Wednesday said that the prospective groom, identified as Kanhaiya from Madhya Pradesh, did not reach Pratapgarh.
