Faridabad school booked for abetment of suicide after Class 11 girl's death
India, Sept. 3 -- A day after a 16-year-old Class 11 student allegedly jumped to her death from the third-floor terrace of a Faridabad school, the administration was booked on charges of abetment of suicide on Wednesday, police said.
An FIR was registered under section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Dabua police station on the basis of a complaint of the victim's father who had earlier alleged that the 16-year-old took the step after being made to stand for four hours in the sun as punishment.
Navodaya Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School Principal RK Sharma, who did not respond to calls from HT on Wednesday, had denied the allegations after the incident.
