AMRITSAR, Sept. 23 -- Former Enforcement Directorate deputy director Niranjan Singh is set to join jailed MP Amritpal Singh-led Akali Dal Waris (Punjab De) on September 23 in Chandigarh ahead of the Punjab assembly elections, party leaders said on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the party's acting president Tarsem Singh, along with Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, visited Niranjan's residence in Jalandhar.

Niranjan, who retired from government service in May 2021, had probed several high-profile drug cases, including the multi-crore Jagdish Bhola drug racket.
