India, March 17 -- As several countries grapple with the possibility of an oil crisis due to the ongoing war between Iran and the US, Sir Lanka has come up with a unique solution - every Wednesday a public holiday. The Sri Lankan government has made the decision in an effort to conserve fuel amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.

According to an AFP report, Commissioner-General of Essential Services Prabath Chandrakeerthi has said that state institutions will operate only four days a week starting Wednesday, March 18.
