Barmer/Sanchore, March 19 -- One person was charred to death after a tanker transporting ethanol overturned and burst into flames on a stretch of National Highway-48 in Rajasthan's Jalore district on Wednesday, police said. The incident took place around 2pm near the Sinwara overbridge on the Jaisalmer-Jamnagar highway stretch, said officials. The fire spread over nearly 200 metres on the highway, disrupting traffic for around two hours. "The tanker, bearing a Gujarat registration number, was travelling from Barmer towards Gujarat when it reportedly lost balance while descending the overbridge and overturned towards the service road," said Chitalwana ASI Mohanlal. He added, "In the accident, the driver, Sukhram Meghwal (34) lost his life."...
