new delhi, June 10 -- The Delhi government on Tuesday announced an incentive scheme to encourage its employees to use public transport for commuting, aiming to reduce fuel consumption and curb pollution in the Capital. According to an office memorandum issued by the finance department, the scheme targets Delhi government employees who use Metro and other public transport services through the Common Mobility Card issued by DTC. Under the scheme, employees who utilise at least 25% of their monthly transport allowance (excluding Dearness Allowance) to recharge or purchase a valid Common Mobility Card will be eligible for an additional incentive equal to 10% of their admissible transport allowance.
