Ebola delays India-Africa summit
New Delhi, May 22 -- India and the African Union on Thursday postponed the fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS), scheduled to be held in New Delhi from May 28 to 31, following an Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa.
As a result, the first International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), which was scheduled to be held in New Delhi on June 1, will now be held at a later date to ensure the "broad and active participation" from all range countries, including African countries, the Union environment ministry said on Thursday.
After consultations, the two sides agreed it would be "advisable to convene the fourth India-Africa Forum Summit at a later date", according to a joint statement.
