India, June 24 -- The state has registered 1, 142 narcotics cases and seized drugs worth Rs.254.53 crore in the first four months of 2026, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis told the legislative assembly on Tuesday, outlining the state's efforts to crackdown on drugs in line with the central government's broader drive to eliminate drugs by 2029.

Providing details of action taken under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act between January and April 2026, Fadnavis said 1,626 accused had been arrested while 3,199 cases were registered against drug users.
