IMPHAL, May 30 -- A 57-year-old truck driver was killed and a police officer sustained bullet injuries after a truck carrying essential commodities, and accompanied by a security convoy, was ambushed by unknown armed miscreants on a stretch of the National Highway 202 in Manipur's Ukhrul on Friday, police said. The deceased was identified as Nitish Kumar from West Bengal's Hooghly district. He died at the spot, an official said. The incident occurred at TM Kasom village at around 10am, added officials.
