New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Widespread rain across the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday brought parts of the region to a standstill, inundating roads, submerging underpasses and disrupting traffic across Delhi, Gurugram and other areas through much of the day. The worst impact was felt in Gurugram, where a 33-hour spell dumped 117mm of rain, flooding roads and underpasses, prompting a work-from-home advisory and once again exposing the city's chronic drainage problems. In Delhi, at least 15 instances of waterlogging were reported, mainly across south, southwest, and north Delhi.
