Downpour lashes NCR: WFH advised as Ggm flooded again
New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Widespread rain across the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday brought parts of the region to a standstill, inundating roads, submerging underpasses and disrupting traffic across Delhi, Gurugram and other areas through much of the day.
The worst impact was felt in Gurugram, where a 33-hour spell dumped 117mm of rain, flooding roads and underpasses, prompting a work-from-home advisory and once again exposing the city's chronic drainage problems. In Delhi, at least 15 instances of waterlogging were reported, mainly across south, southwest, and north Delhi.
The Public Works Department received complaints from areas including Press Enclave Marg, Defence Colony, Kanjhawala and Palla.
