New Delhi, Oct. 27 -- Lawyers across Delhi's district courts will abstain from judicial work on Tuesday to protest the alleged police high-handedness towards advocates, who had approached Shahdara police station over an assault on a fellow lawyer, the Coordination Committee of All District Courts Bar Associations of Delhi said on Monday.
The decision follows allegations that a senior police officer displayed his revolver and threatened advocates who had visited the police station to seek action in the assault case.
The committee, in a resolution passed on Monday, has sought the immediate suspension of the officer and the concerned SHO, pending an impartial inquiry into the incident.
