The idea, which has circulated on TikTok and Reddit as Meta's camera-equipped smart glasses have gone mainstream, is that copyrighted music picked up on the glasses' microphone would trigger automated takedowns if the footage is uploaded.

Fortune reported this month that people have tried a range of tactics, from loud singing to scanner apps, to avoid being filmed by strangers wearing the glasses. An attorney interviewed by the magazine said none of the methods were foolproof.
