India, Sept. 1 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again urged Indians to embrace "Swadeshi", asking them to holiday in India, choose Indian destinations for weddings and buy gold only when necessary, to redirect spending towards the domestic economy.

Addressing Indians in a September 1 video message on Instagram, celebrating the country's economic growth by 7.8% in the April-June 2026 quarter, Modi said domestic spending could help sustain India's growth momentum.
