India, Aug. 22 -- The state capital is set to witness a musical evening soaked in songs of rain. Lucknow-based singer Dr Prabha Srivastava, a dental surgeon, will be presenting ghazals and songs during the Monsoon Mehfil to be held at Dilkusha Club on Sunday.

To be held in a sitting-baithak format, the singer will be performing songs of the season. "I have curated a list of songs like Rimjhim Gire Sawan, Saawan Ka Mahina, some ghazals by Jagjit Singh saheb and Papon during the concert. We have kept the mehfil in a traditional baithak setting which has been the heritage of Awadh and getting lost," says Prabha who was till recently working at Army Hospital as dental officer.
