New Delhi, Aug. 17 -- The Master Plan for Delhi-2047 has laid out a dedicated framework for expanding rental housing in the Capital for the first time, including Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs), studio apartments, hostels and dormitories, with a focus on migrants, seasonal workers, students, single working people, and lower-income households.

According to the draft plan, rental housing can provide "tenure flexibility, geographical mobility and affordable options (low entry and exit cost)" and proposes using both public and private housing stock to create a larger rental market.
