New Delhi, June 24 -- Delhi lieutenant governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday directed authorities to replicate the "Zero Waste Colony" model of Navjeevan Vihar across the Capital, particularly in unauthorised and low-income group colonies, officials said. During a visit to the south Delhi colony, LG also asked the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to support RWAs in adopting decentralised waste management systems and explore funding, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support, for Aerobins and RRR centres. Sandhu said sustainable waste management requires active public participation and urged RWAs to prioritise household-level source segregation.
