India, Sept. 13 -- Lieutenant governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has approved a health scheme for construction workers, under which eligible candidates and their dependent family members will receive cashless healthcare coverage, officials said on Saturday.

The Delhi Building Workers Health Scheme will benefit more than 270,000 registered building and construction workers and their families, officials said. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will be eligible for treatment worth up to Rs.2 lakh annually, subject to an overall family limit of Rs.10 lakh a year.

Registered workers and their spouses will receive annual health check-ups, while beneficiaries will have access to cashless OPD consultations, diagnostics, medicines and inpatient trea...
