India, Sept. 24 -- The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice on a petition seeking directions to the Centre to conduct Territorial Army officer recruitment examinations on a gender-neutral basis, without prescribing separate vacancy caps for male and female candidates.

A bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia sought the Centre, the Department of Defence, and the Directorate General Territorial Army's response in the plea filed by one Kush Kalra, while fixing December 4 as the next date of hearing.

In his petition, argued by advocate Mohit Paul, Kalra submitted that although the high court had paved the way for women's entry into the Territorial Army in 2015 , the move remained only a partial measure.
