New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- The Delhi government will provide Rs.2.4 lakh annually to recreational centres for senior citizens under its "Vayo Anand" scheme, aimed at creating accessible spaces where people aged 60 and above can socialise, pursue recreational activities and participate in health and wellness programmes, officials said on Friday.

Chief minister Rekha Gupta said the government will launch the scheme to provide senior citizens with dedicated spaces for recreation, social interaction and health-related activities.

Under the scheme, eligible recreational centres will receive Rs.20,000 a month, or Rs.2.40 lakh annually, to provide facilities and organise activities for senior citizens, officials said.
