New Delhi, March 10 -- The Delhi assembly will soon start light and sound shows for visitors to experience the rich history of the iconic building, which was constructed in 1912, officials said on Monday.

According to Delhi assembly speaker Vijender Gupta, the initiative aims to promote the assembly as a living heritage tourist destination.

"The purpose of planning these shows is to familiarise people with the history of this iconic building in an engaging and interesting manner. We want people to understand how this building has stood witness to several historic events. That should inspire visitors," he told HT.
