India, Dec. 22 -- The smog in Delhi is persistent, with the air quality index (AQI) of the national capital continuing to hover in the 'very poor' category on Monday morning.

The average AQI in Delhi at 7:05 AM was 366. Many places in the city saw pollution levels enter the 'severe' category, with the Narela monitoring station recording an AQI of 418, the highest so far on Monday.
