dda clears 10k mt of silt and waste from key outfall drain in rohini
New Delhi, July 15 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has removed more than 10,000 metric tonnes of silt and waste from a major underground trunk outfall drain in Rohini as part of its desilting exercise aimed at improving stormwater flow and reducing the risk of waterlogging in the area, officials said on Tuesday.
According to DDA, the ongoing operation covers a 4.1km-long trunk drain comprising three to five parallel reinforced cement concrete (RCC) pipelines of 2,200 mm diameter.
Officials said the drain, constructed between 1995 and 1998, carries stormwater and discharge from Rohini sectors 20, 21, 22 and 23, besides parts of Kirari and Begumpur.
