New Delhi, March 18 -- The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has warned all intermediaries including social media companies and other online platforms to strictly control harmful AI-generated content, saying failure to act could lead to legal consequences such as loss of safe harbour protections and exposure to civil and criminal liability under applicable laws, including the Information Technology (IT) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
