Noida, Sept. 9 -- The 74-year-old former Delhi chief secretary Rakesh Mehta, who was found dead on Sunday, allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Noida's Phase 2, police said on Tuesday, adding that they have recovered a note from his house. The note mentioned prolonged illness and added that no one was responsible for his death, investigating officers added. The 1975-batch IAS officer was from Dehradun and lived alone in Kendriya Vihar 2 Society in Noida, Phase 2. His wife and two children live in Dehradun. According to police, the incident came to fore after Mehta's phone went unanswered and his wife alerted society's security to check.
