Meerut, Aug. 28 -- A head constable of Uttar Pradesh Police was arrested on Wednesday after he and his family allegedly set his wife on fire over a property dispute in Amroha district, police said, adding that the woman sustained severe burn injuries and is battling for her life. The incident took place on Tuesday at a residence in Narangpur village, where the woman, identified as Parul (35), lived with the her in-laws. Officials said that Parul was allegedly assaulted by her in-laws before they poured an inflammable substance on her and set her ablaze. Parul's family, upon being alerted by neighbours, rushed to the house and took her to a private hospital in Moradabad, before being referred to Delhi due to her critical condition. The woman...
