India, March 9 -- The war in the Middle East and Central Asia has given rise to a major controversy in the T20 World Cup. The biennial event got over on Sunday with India beating New Zealand in a one-sided final at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, but some of the teams are still stuck in the sub-continental nation due to restricted access to airspaces for the large part of the world.
For example the West Indies played their last game on March 1 but they are still in India. So is the case with South Africa who lost to New Zealand in their semifinal on March 4.
