Contamination deaths: MP panel seeks records
Bhopal, March 6 -- A one-member judicial commission probing the Bhagirathpura epidemic in Indore, which claimed 22 lives, has submitted an interim report before the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court, citing the absence of crucial documents such as post-mortem and water testing reports.
The commission, headed by Justice (Retd.) Sushil Kumar Gupta, sought more time to complete the probe as several key records are yet to be provided by the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).
A division bench of justices Vijay Kumar Shukla and Alok Awasthi granted the commission one month's extension and directed it to submit a comprehensive report by April 6, 2026.
