CM hails Metro network in run-up to PM's launch event
New Delhi, March 8 -- Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said the expansion of the Delhi Metro network is strengthening the public transport system, ahead of the scheduled inauguration of two new corridors and laying of the foundation stone for three additional Metro lines by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
The PM will inaugurate the Majlis Park-Maujpur-Babarpur section of the Pink Line and the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park section on the Magenta Line.
With the inauguration, the Pink Line will now be 71.56 kilometres long, completing the country's first fully operational "ring metro" which circles large parts of Delhi, officials said. Gupta said the project is expected to improve connectivity between north-east and north-west Delhi ...
