JAMMU, Aug. 13 -- Normal functioning in 10 schools across eight 8 panchayats of Rajouri district resumed following an abrupt break on Monday after two rabies infected dogs went on a biting spree, said officials on Wednesday.

Around a dozen people, all adults, were bitten by the two dogs on Monday that triggered panic and prompted the district administration to close around 10 schools in eight panchayats.

Additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Kotranka, Dil Mir Choudhary said, "There were two dogs, who were infected by rabies. They were disposed off on Monday and all the schools have resumed their normal functioning. Everything is normal now as flag marches and rehearsals for ID celebrations are on".
