India, Aug. 14 -- Christy Knowings, the actress and comedian best known for her time on Nickelodeon's All That, has died at 46. According to Entertainment Weekly, she died from complications following a severe asthma attack.

Christy Knowings suffered the asthma attack on August 7. The attack caused brain damage, and she was hospitalized at a Los Angeles-area hospital and placed on life support. Her family later made the difficult decision to take her off life support on Tuesday.

Christy Knowings was best known for appearing on All That for three seasons, from around 1997 to 2000. She played several characters on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show, including Jessica in the "Whateverrr!!!" sketches with Amanda Bynes.
