India, Aug. 19 -- Nine people, including six men, two women and a child, died after a massive fire broke out at a G+4 building on Mirza Ghalib Street in central Kolkata around 2 am on Wednesday.

Six others were injured and shifted to hospital for treatment, fire brigade sources said. Around 60 people were rescued from the building without injuries. The fire has been doused, the sources said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
