Chennai pharma distributor arrested in Karnataka counterfeit drug case: Police
Bengaluru, Sept. 30 -- A Chennai-based pharmaceutical distributor and business associate of alleged interstate counterfeit drug racket kingpin Prashanth Rajanbabu was arrested by the Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT), becoming the seventh person taken into custody in the case.
The accused, Balasubramanian, was brought to Bengaluru for questioning on Wednesday. He was a partner in DM Pharma, the pharmaceutical distribution company set up by Rajanbabu, his wife and Balasubramanian in 2021.
His arrest followed the interrogation of Rajanbabu, who was taken into custody at Kempegowda International Airport on Monday after arriving in Bengaluru. Balasubramanian was remanded to seven days of SIT custody.
