India, Aug. 7 -- Bhavisha Buddhadeo, 50, believes environmental conservation goes beyond tree plantation. Identifying waste management as one of Gurugram's most pressing challenges, she said its her mission to educate the younger generation about sustainable waste practices.

Every week, Buddhadeo and her team conduct awareness sessions in government and private schools across Gurugram and Delhi-NCR, teaching students about waste segregation and recycling to enlist long-term behavioural change among them.

In 2018, Buddhadeo founded Root Skill, a social enterprise, to work primarily with women and youth. "The purpose of these workshops is to empower women and youth, train them to generate revenue from available resources," she said.
