Chandigarh, Sept. 21 -- The municipal corporation has planned to issue a fresh tender for the operation and maintenance of its 522 door-to-door garbage collection vehicles at an estimated cost of Rs.37.69 crore. The agenda will come up for discussion in the upcoming MC House meeting on September 22. The corporation had earlier floated a Rs.32.75-crore tender three times, but failed to award the contract due to cost and other factors.

The new contract will cover the operation of the vehicles, manpower, fuel, maintenance, repairs, and other related expenses.
