Chandigarh, Oct. 9 -- A special court has rejected the fourth bail application of 67 year-old Kharati Lal, accused of conspiring to plant 1kg ganja in the car of an advocate to allegedly falsely implicate him in an Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case.

The court noted that Kharati Lal had earlier been declared a proclaimed offender in the present case and also continued to be a convicted proclaimed offender in a separate bank robbery case in Himachal Pradesh.

According to the prosecution, the case dates back to September 24, 2022, when police recovered three packets containing 502 grams, 463 grams and 400 grams of ganja from a Honda car belonging to advocate Ashok Sehgal in Sector 11. The FIR was initially register...
