Chandigarh: Serial killer cab driver held guilty in 3rd rape-murder case
Chandigarh, Sept. 15 -- Already serving life sentences for the rape and murder of an MBA student in 2010 and a 40-year-old woman in Maloya in 2022, serial killer cabbie Monu Kumar, 40, has been found guilty in a third case - the rape and murder of a 60-year-old woman whose body was found in a forested area near a government school in Sector 54 in February 2024.
A special fast-track court on Monday held Kumar guilty under Sections 302 (murder) and 376-E (punishment for repeat offenders) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The quantum of the sentence will be pronounced on Tuesday.
